The 2006 FX Cup came to it's conclusion
in Nov and now Mark and Dave are now pushing hard
in the 2007 FX Cup season. Armed with
the
valuable experience they gained while
competing in last years series,
and backed by new sponsors and Team Green
Racing, they both know they have a great chance
to be in the top five for 2007.
So far they hasn't done too badly.
In the last round at Eastern
Creek Mark grabbed 24 points even though he had
to miss one of the 3 races for the weekend. So,
after competing in only 3 of the 7 rounds, Mark
has placed 24th in the championship with 54
points.
Not bad for a Shoalhaven Heads butcher.
He started the series in round 4 at Qld and missed the first three
rounds and was not being able to travel to Tassie
for the Symmonds Plains round due to lack of
funds.
Conservative estimates of the possible total
points Mark could have gained had contested all
races in all rounds could have been around 135
to 150 and seen him placed around 7th for the
series.
Dave also finished well up in the field in the
last round of the FX-Cup at Eastern Creek. That
race meeting was Dave's toe in the water for
Formula Xtreme. Now, with Team Green Racing and
riding the awesome ZX-10R in place of his Honda
CBRR 1000,
he's looking forward to mixing it with the other
competitors.
